Haiku attempt
o ken e musi kiwen pi ali
en o open tawa ken sina
en o lukin tawa kama kiwen

Which I translated from:

Trust life's adventure,
Open to your potental
And face the challenge.

So... how'd I do?

two questions: how do I say "haiku" or "small poem" in toki pona, and also "how'd I do?"

RE: Haiku attempt
mi toki e seme tawa nimi Inli "small poem" anu nimi Nipon "haiku"? open la nimi 'toki musi lili'
toki nanpa wan la ni li toki Ajaku ala. kulupu kalama mute.
nanpa tu la nimi 'pi' li wile e nimi tu lon monsi
nanpa tu wan la nimi 'en' li lon ala insa pi kulupu nimi pini tu.
ante la no li pona. nimi 'musi kiwen' en 'kama kiwen' li musi. taso mi pilin e ni (kepeken toki Inli) "hard" in this sense is probably 'ike', 'kiwen' seems to be really about physical resistance.

First I translate back to English before I look at the English text:

"Enable the stony art of all!
and start going to you're ablility
and look to come rocky."

The "en" should only join subjects. This sounds like you are using tawa like propositions after a verb (start to, look for)

Trust life's adventure,
Open to your potental
And face the challenge.

Toki pona expands as you translate, it's uncommon to be able to take random text and to a fair translation without significant expansion.

Here is one possible translation, I'm sure other exist.
tenpo pi moli ala sina la ijo nasa li lon. o pilin pona tawa ni.
sina li ken pali e ijo mute. o pilin sama ni: sina ken.
tenpo kama la pali li suli. o pali e ijo suli ni.

how do I say "haiku" or "small poem" in toki pona,

Small phrases or words translate best when embedded in a full sentence

jan li toki e sitelen nimi pi kama sama. He spoke in rhyme.
jan pi ma Nipon li pali e sitlen musi pi nimi 5 pi nimi 7 pi nimi 5.

"how'd I do?"
sitelen musi ni li pona tawa sina? Do y'all like it?
mi pali ala pali e pakala? Did I make any mistakes?
